Swansea City AFC home ground – The Liberty Stadium – has an all seated capacity of 20,532 and was completed in 2005 on the site of the old Morfa Stadium in Landore, just on the outskirts of the city.

Liberty Stadium Swansea - Home to the Swans - Swansea City AFC

Swansea City AFC relocated there from their old ground – Vetch Field – a stadium that had opened in 1912 and been home to the Swans until their move to the new Liberty Stadium in 2005. The Vetch remained vacant until demolition of the stadium started in January 2011 and is expected to take at least 6 months to complete.
Swansea Football Club share the Liberty Stadium with the Ospreys, a rugby union team that represents Neath and Swansea and were initially created as partnership between Neath RFC and Swansea RFC. Not content with housing two top quality sports teams, the Liberty Stadium also doubles as a concert arena, attracting many top name acts to perform there as well as hosting other sporting events throughout the year.

Built at a cost of £27 million, the Liberty Stadium is without a doubt a world class sporting venue, and is also capable of hosting multiple entertainment and cultural events. It is a fine home to the Premiership’s new member – Swansea City AFC …. the Liberty Stadium is truly a magnificent venue that the City Of Swansea can be proud of.
