SWANSEA CITY boss Brendan Rodgers has promised more January signings after confirming the Swans have snatched exciting Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson on a six month loan.
Having already signed up teen striker Rory Donnelly, the Swansea chief said the deal to bring in goal-scoring Icelandic ace Sigurdsson was done.
And he added: “Gylfi is a terrific young player who impressed me when I was at Reading.
“He’s a real threat, has got a wonderful strike rate and he went to Germany for nearly £7m last year.
“We can’t afford £7, let alone £7m, so our best chance was to get him on loan and it’s a great move for us.
“It’s a good start to the window after Rory, two young and hungry players, and hopefully we can do some more in that vein in the next few days.”
